Our Membranes

Submerged Membrane Modules

Memstar’s submerged modules are made of high performance PDVF hollow fibre UF membranes and are characterised by high performance, ease of cleaning, high flux and lower energy consumption. The modules are designed mainly for the processes of MBR (Membrane Bio-Reactor) and MCR (Membrane Chemical Reactors). The modules are used in MBR process for treatment of municipal / industrial waste water. In MCR process, the membrane modules can be used for the production of tap water and industrial water by removing suspended solids / flocculants from the raw water. (e.g. surface water, plant wastewater).

Membrane Bio Reactor
Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) is a new technology for wastewater treatment, combining conventional biological process with membrane separation. In MBR systems, the membrane modules are placed in a tank for separation of water from sludge. The efficiency of biological treatment is significantly improved through highly concentrated sludge resulting from interception of the membrane. The permeate (product water) of MBR systems has excellent quality and can be used for certain purposes. MBR is an important technology for wastewater treatment and recycling.

 Advantages of MBR

  •  Highly Efficient/ Effective Biological Treatment
  • Reduced Land Requirement for MBR – reduction of 1/3-2/3 of land compared to conventional process
  • Suitable for Varying Quality of Influent Water Stable Quality of Permeate (Product Water)
  • Low Energy Consumption
  • Reduction in Sludge
  • Reasonable Cost for Operation/ Maintenance

Membrane Chemical Reactor Applications

Membrane Chemical Reactor (MCR) combines chemical flocculation and membrane separation, in which coagulant is added to precipitate suspended solids followed by the removal of the sediments through high performance separation of UF membranes. MCR technology can be used for water purification and recycling of wastewater.

Advantages of MCR

  • Reduced Land Requirement
  • Suitable for Varying Quality of Influent Water Stable Quality of Product Water
  • Reasonable Costs for Operation/ Maintenance
